Quality Built CEO Brian Kramer announced today the appointment of John Gillett as president of the nationwide quality assurance company. John replaces co-founder Elizabeth Michaelis, who will transition from her current role to focus on insurance customers.
Gillett brings more than 18 years of construction industry experience to the role, most recently as president of one of the industry’s largest energy inspection and consulting firms. In his new position, Gillett sees a clear opportunity to build on Quality Built’s reputation and technology.
“This is a time of dramatic change in our industry,” Gillett says. “Quality Built is well-positioned to leverage 25 years’ worth of on-the-ground data and experience to provide solutions that help to shorten our clients’ design and build cycles, while improving the quality of their products.”
Founded in 1994, Quality Built provides a comprehensive suite of inspection and technical services to production homebuilders and commercial contractors across the United States.
The company addresses client needs from land acquisition through customer care, integrating the project stakeholders and creating transparency through its proprietary software platform. Quality Built combines a nationwide staff of professional inspectors and technical experts with proprietary software that connects the entire value chain, helping clients reduce build-out time and rework, defects, mitigate risk, and track progress in real-time. The company specializes in building code compliance, quality assurance, sustainable building practices, and insurance requirements.
Recently acquired by Gallant Capital Partners, Quality Built is leveraging its resources to develop and deliver world-class technology and service solutions to the building industry.
“We’ve seen that the construction industry has quickened its pace of adopting new technology,” Gillett says. “While it’s been primarily focused on design and administrative tools, the next wave of technology will focus on increasing the productivity of the workforce and the quality of the buildings they produce.”
Kramer sees the addition of Gillett, with his extensive building industry experience and “client first” approach to business, as a perfect fit with the culture of Quality Built and central to Quality Built’s plans for future growth.
“We have listened to our clients who are increasingly seeking efficiency and productivity gains to offset rising costs, focusing our efforts on leveraging our technology platform to provide business insights and on expanding our service offering to bundle services to deliver greater value per trip to the job site,” Kramer says. “We are excited to have John join the Quality Built team and value his incredible knowledge and deep relationships in the industry, which will provide an important cornerstone for our future growth.”
